Photo encaustic is a mixed-media art form. My own process begins by shooting a photograph of something I love—in this case, a collection of iconic vintage Bauer mixing bowls that have been with me since my childhood. Bauer's ringware pottery evokes mid-century California with its colorful, saturated glazes.
